My puppy (yellow lab) just turned a year and lost a front top tooth. When he was little and lost the baby teeth one of the adult teeth came in crocked. Has anyone experienced a puppy over a year losing teeth?
At what age do puppies STOP losing their baby teeth?
Sound like he lost a baby tooth. When the adult tooth is a little off when it comes in tit doesn%26#039;t completely disolve the root of the baby tooth and they hang on. Sometimes they have to be removed by the vet apparently this one finally gave way. That is of course if all other teeth are in place, clean and healthy.
Other wise if all goes well they loose their teeth for 5-7 months of age.
Reply:Between 6-7 months, they should have all their adult teeth in..
Reply:They lose all of their puppy teeth around 6 months of age. So if he lost a tooth now you need to have him examined to see if it was an adult tooth and if there is a problem in his mouth.
Reply:About 6-8 months.

Pekingese losing hair & teeth?
My grandma%26#039;s dog, a pekingese, is 10 or 11 years old and constantly scratches herself, to the point where she is losing hair (her hair never really got long like you see in dog shows). She also loses teeth occasionally and smells really bad, even though my grandma gives her a bath almost every day. She still acts the same as she always has, we just don%26#039;t know what%26#039;s wrong with her. Any ideas?
P.S. Please, this is a serious question. If you don%26#039;t have a serious answer then don%26#039;t answer at all.
Pekingese losing hair %26amp; teeth?
Losing hair and teeth is a sign of something serious going on. Dogs, even older ones, don%26#039;t just go bald and lose teeth nor do they smell bad if they are healthy.
Losing teeth is a sign of serious dental infection, which can lead to organ failure if left untreated. The dog really needs a good dental cleaning and a round of anti-biotics.
Losing the hair could be from any number of things from bad nutrition to mites. It really needs to be diagnosed by a vet.
All signs are pointing to the fact that this dog needs to be seen by a vet. Things are not at all going well for this poor dog. Even though 10/11 is getting up there for a dog, small dogs can easily live to their later teens so there is no reason that this dog can%26#039;t be given at least a few more years with good vet care.
Reply:her teeth probably need professional cleaning, its common with older dogs. she could really use a vet check up and a full blood panal checked. bathing almost every day isn%26#039;t the best for her, it will make her skin itchy.
Reply:If the dog is losing teeth, she needs dental attention. A vet can schedule that for you.
Also check her for allergies or dry skin: While most dogs scratch some, constantly is too much.
Good luck!
Reply:Dogs get old.
Some smaller dogs, and just some dogs have problems with their teeth. Rotting teeth will cause bad breath. It would be a good idea to talk to the vet. . .see if she is able to be put under to operate to remove the teeth.
She could have an underlying infection.
Make sure she is on a really good diet.
I wouldn%26#039;t bathe the dog every day. . .it could irritate the dog, they need their natural oils. That could be what is causing hair loss. Too much of a good thing.
If you have the money, a blood workup is good to do when they get to the senior age. It cost me about 300 , but it was either that or keep having the vet tell me it was kidney problems and treat her for that, when it turned out to be hyperlipidemia (pancreas).
Reply:First, the dog is old. Secondly, she has dental problems, common in older dogs.... this requires an anesthetic and have her teeth scaled, and of course there are problems with older dogs and anesthesia. at 11, this is a 77 year old person.
Secondly the skin problems are an allergy, to about about anything in the dog%26#039;s environment --- grass, or other plants, and or a food ingredient that is the offending item(s)
Your grandmother needs to take her dog to a vet, and get some help with it. Cheap? Nope. Taking care of any 77 year old is never cheap.
Reply:She%26#039;s a very old dog, and tooth loss is not uncommon. As for the smell, it can be associated with numerous conditions, and bathing every day honestly just makes it worse. Bathing removes the natural oils and conditioners in the dog%26#039;s skin.
This dog really needs to see a vet to see what the hair loss is about.
Reply:One sure way to ruin a dogs coat and cause VERY itchy skin is to bath it too often. As far as the teeth are concerned you are talking about an older dog. Does she have her teeth cleaned? Dogs, especially those that are given %26quot;treats%26quot; are more susceptible to tooth decay. Dogs also need routine dental care. See a vet for a skin conditioner and have the teeth examined. Then only bath the dog once or twice a year. My Peke was a therapy dog until the constant bathing (which is required prior to a visit) damaged her skin and coat. She is now retired.
Reply:She really needs to see her vet. These are problems that he may need to help with.
Reply:If she is scratching she could have allergies. When my dog%26#039;s hair started falling out, the vet couldn%26#039;t help. I had to take her to an animal dermatologist. Constantly scratching, losing hair, and a bad smell is very serious. This dog is suffering. Please take it to a vet or dermatologist.

Dream about losing teeth ??
last night i had a dream where i was losing my teeth. through out the dream im avoiding everyone. Mainly people that want to date me and see me. . they keep wanting to find me. first it starts with one tooth and then progesses. to a few more until i finally spit out the rest in my hand with some blood. i also dream about talking to a dentist and she tells me its okay that they will grow back but i dont understand how but i feel a sense of relief kind of in my dream when she says it. I dont know if this has anything to do with it but a few days ago i found out my gf had been cheating on me and lying to me. any help would be great.
Dream about losing teeth ??
Hey dude,
I%26#039;m a psychology student in England.
Dreams about losing teeth are almost always related to fears about ageing.
However, saying that, Freud actually also said that %26#039;sometimes dreams are just dreams%26#039; - they don%26#039;t necessarily have to have a deeper meaning. Usually if a dream is recurring then it does, or if they have a repeating theme. Maybe you%26#039;re just under stress and that%26#039;s making your mind work overtime.
Either way it%26#039;s not something you need to worry about unless you are seeing a change in your behaviour during the day i.e. when not asleep. If this thing is really affecting your life you need to sit down and really think about what it is that%26#039;s bugging you and why so that you can overcome it - don%26#039;t keep it inside.
That ring any bells?
Reply:It could have to do with the fact that you%26#039;re starting over something new in life and you are aware of the change...possibly you won%26#039;t date for a while and you%26#039;re glad that you won%26#039;t
Reply:I had a similar dream, but the reason I had it was because my mother had a gum disease and had to have all her teeth pulled.
And then I think I was stressing out in my dreams, because I didn%26#039;t think I was brushing my teeth enough. Or it might have been while I was asleep, my wisdom teeth were bothering me, I still haven%26#039;t got them pulled yet.
Reply:dude i had dreams were i lost my teeth all the time, when i had braces. you are probably just haveing the dream because you brushed your teeth before you went to bed and for some reason you had a dream about teeth. and it was probably the first time for you to have that kind of dream. so your mind tried to connect this weird thing thats happening in your dream with something new that happed in your life like your gf cheating on you.....so i don%26#039;t think it ment anything. but maybe you wanted it to.
Reply:When do your teeth naturally fall out?
When you are young and maturing.
Your dentist comfirms it, it%26#039;s just normal, you will be able to chew and digest food (life) normally. Why wouldn%26#039;t you feel at ease about it? Cause you aren%26#039;t doing a very good job of digesting the stuff that%26#039;s been thrown at you lately.
Always remember, %26quot;This too, shall pass.%26quot;
Can you get over this loss by just finding someone else?
Seems you already know the answer to this one.
Reply:Fear of growing up or fear of old age (two times when you lose teeth normally).
Reply:%26quot;Dreaming that you have rotten or decaying teeth, forewarns that your health and/or business is in jeopardy. You may have uttered some false or foul words and those words are coming back to haunt you.%26quot;
Reply:it means sense of loss
Reply:Dreams are simply random electrical impulses that generate in your brain stem. The %26quot;movie%26quot; that you see when you dream is your brain%26#039;s attempt to make sense of this activity, often attaching memories, fantasies, or fears to the neural impulses.

Running away and losing teeth?
i have lots of dreams every night but almost every night i either have one or both about running away from something or trying to run to get some where away from some one else...
and i also always have dreams about losing my teeth like the whole root and everything coming out...and my teeth being lose or my braces breaking ( i haven%26#039;t had braces in over 2 years)
i was just wondering what all this ment if anyone knew any advice would be great
Running away and losing teeth?
Traditionaly losing your teeth in a dream means you are not speaking your mind....maybe you are running away from the truth of a situation you are dealing with, and maybe you are scared to speak your mind about something that is bothering you.....................or perhaps I am way off base.
Reply:losing teeth means ur worried about money
idk wat running away means.
if u dont like these bad dreams try not to sleep on ur back, because it was actully scientificly proven that when u sleep on ur back youre more likely to have bad dreams. FYI i have really weird dreams too ;) but not bad ones
Reply:I had a dream like that before.
I had a dream that i was running away.
My friend told me that whenever she had a dream thats sad or something that your explaining, she kill%26#039;s herself in her dreams so she can wake up.
I don%26#039;t know if you should do that, but it seems like it works.
When i don%26#039;t like a dream, i dream i%26#039;m going to sleep so i could wakeup, strange.. isn%26#039;t it?
I can control my dreams sometimes or let it wander.
I dreamed i lost my teeth before. Hehe,
Usually dumb dreams like those are because your mind wanders too much and you can%26#039;t control it.
You think a lot, probably from lack of sleep are being stressed.
One time i had a dream that my piano wouldn%26#039;t play, so i asked my dad and he said it was PREGNANT.
I was like %26quot;what the hell?%26quot; lol, funniest thing ever.
I think the only way to stop these dreams is to drink tea.
My mom told me that tea relaxes you, and calms you to have nice dreams.
So, drink lots of teaa!
Reply:if you are dreaming about running away its like you have some problems to face, while loosing a tooth or a teeth there%26#039;s someone from your family who is going to pass away, the farther the tooth comes out the farthest relatives but when your front teeth comes out, relatives closest to you might pass away.and you should not say that teeth story to anyone you should only whisper the story to a living tree and bite a part of the trunk, its like transferring the bad news to it so it will remain a secret.

Reply:Uh, nooooo. Losing one%26#039;s teeth DOES NOT mean you are going to lose your parents. I have no idea where that came from, but it is WAAAAY off base. It sounds like a couple of girls trying to be funny, which they are not.
At any rate, losing your teeth in dreams means that you are not being completely honest. It indicates false speech or deception of some sort. Loose teeth and breaking braces indicate similar things. Change the behaviour and these types of dreams will stop.
Running away indicates you may be running away from problems, whatever you may perceive them to be. If you can, in your dream, stop running and turn around and face whatever is chasing you. Usually, you will rise above it in your dreams in some way.
Hope this helps.

Cat losing teeth?
My cat knocked one of her fangs out about three weeks ago but I have now noticed that some of her small front teeth are missing. My hubbie says she is losing her baby teeth but I am worried as she is five years old. Do I need to take her the vet and what come be the problem?
Cat losing teeth?
Cats often lose the tiny teeth between their incisors (fangs) as they grow older. Those teeth have very short roots and really don%26#039;t have any function other than space-fillers while the incisors are coming in when they are kittens, to that the fangs come in straight.
No need to take her to the vet because those tiny teeth are being lost, but you should take her in to have the knocked-out fang checked. Sometimes a bit of root remains in the jaw and later abscesses.
Reply:vet
Reply:She needs a vet. She lost her baby teeth five years ago as a growing kitten. She may have an infection or gum disease.
Reply:she could have gingivitis
alot of cats get it at this age
Reply:tooth fairy
Reply:The health of cats teeth depends mostly on the diet, try feeding her dry food, do go to vet for advice on cause, could be gum disease, some cats are prone to it. Try brushing cats teeth with special toothbrush and paste, buy same at petshop or vets.
Reply:She%26#039;s definitely no longer a baby. You should definitely take her to the vet. It%26#039;s probably a treatable, non-serious disease of some sort, but still needs a vet%26#039;s care. Good luck!
Reply:I would take her to the vet my cats lost all their baby teeth by 1
Reply:Baby teeth are gone a long time ago, take her to a vet before she loses any more, hope it isn%26#039;t to late, she might have gotten infection when she knocked out her fang. Wonder how a cat knocks out her tooth, did she run into the wall?? Well anyways she needs a vet, bad teeth could cause other problems.
Reply:Baby teeff at five years old huh? Maybe on another planet but anything is possible. Maybe when she accidentally broke the fang, she broke the others at the same time. Best bet, take her to the vet immediately because it could affect her feeding herself, which would be bad. Good luck.

Losing puppy teeth?
My 4 month old puppy is losing teeth. He has lost about 5 allready. Is it too early?
What can I do for him? He is probably in pain right?
Losing puppy teeth?
It%26#039;s normal. Make sure you have plenty of rubber toys for him to chew on. Also, when my youngest dog began teething I gave her one of those baby toys you give to toddlers when they are teething- you put them in the fridge so they are cold. She seemed to like the cold toy during teething than any other one- I believe they make something like this for dogs though incase you don%26#039;t want to use a toddler%26#039;s one.
Reply:thats a normal time to start loosing teeth. I don%26#039;t think he%26#039;s in pain. I never read much on that though.
Reply:just keep some chew toys for him, that%26#039;s all
Reply:no you don%26#039;t need to do any thing he is just loosing his baby teeth just like humans. hes not in any pain don%26#039;t worry!
Reply:no its a natural thing. just give him plenty of toys to teethe on or else he will go for your shoes!!
Reply:thats one month early ,put some aloe vera gel on it
dont worry its normal and he is not in pain much at all.
Reply:Puppies usually lose their teeth around that time. It will probably ease the pain i you give them something to chew on.
Reply:i would give him cold water and soft dog food
Reply:Do Nothing; this is natural. If he doesn%26#039;t lose all the baby teeth before the permanent ones comes in, they may be too crowded, %26amp; the Vet would have to pull the baby teeth that didn%26#039;t come out; let Nature do its thing.
Reply:No, he%26#039;s at about the right age. He probably isn%26#039;t in as much pain as you might think. Just give him a soft chew toy to help him teethe.
Oh, and do be careful if you tend to walk around with bare feet. My hubby stepped on one of our puppy%26#039;s teeth one night and bled for ages. He complained loudly. Puppy was just fine. ;-)
Reply:no its normal, they don`t seem to be in pain...but its bugging then so mebay something to chew on would be a good idea......

Purchase some of them frozen bite type toys for babes teething...he is ok and no he is not in pain....animals can endure much more than humans even though us humans feel our dogs are human...lol...he is ok but if he whimpers give him one 200mg motrin or one baby aspirin...any doubts or questions contact link provided. Hector is Great....and reknowned....good luck
Reply:No, it is not too early for him to lose his baby teeth.
Puppies ave 28 baby teeth which will soon be replaced with 42 adult teeth.
I%26#039;m sure his gums are a little sore and you may find that he will not eat as well as he usually does, but don%26#039;t be alarmed.
You can give him ice cubes to chew on to help ease any discomfort ant and you also freeze a wet wash cloth and let him chew on that, BUT watch him carefully with the washcloth. You don%26#039;t want him to tear it to to bits and swallow any of it. There are also teething toys that you buy for him at any of the major pet stores.
Here%26#039;s a link about teething that you may find helpful as well. If you%26#039;re lucky, you might even find one or two to save in his scrapbook :-)
Reply:Yes, it%26#039;s alright to lose teeth that early, and for the pain, u culd put ice to his gums or something
Reply:Actually, this is just the right time for him to be loosing his teeth. They start shedding their incisors at about 4 months. The process is a bit painful, which is why they start to chew a whole lot while they%26#039;re teething. You%26#039;ll definitely want to make sure he has plenty of chew toys around, otherwise he%26#039;ll turn to your stuff. It%26#039;s a good idea to keep track of his teeth during this time, just in case he retains a baby tooth or something is coming in extremely crooked. He should end up with 42 teeth total, which is more than he had as a puppy. They start with 28. He should be done around 6-7 months when his molars come in. Unless he is showing overt signs of pain, I wouldn%26#039;t worry about it. I couldn%26#039;t find anything on petco.com that would help oral pain, and the %26quot;natural%26quot; remedies online are like $30 a bottle. The way I see it, puppies have been teething without pain meds for thousands of years. They should be fine unless there is a dental problem
I hope this helps!
Reply:It%26#039;s nothing to worry about! It%26#039;s perfectly normal! Puppies lose their baby teeth, just like we lose our baby teeth, when we are babies, to make room for the permanent ones. Half of the time, they just swallow the teeth, so you don%26#039;t even know they are missing. Just make sure he has a lot of chew toys, and keep items he should not be getting into out of reach, because when they are teething, they will chew on anything.
