Anything to soothe a puppy while losing teeth?

Our 6 1/2 month old Chihuahua is losing his baby teeth right and left. Never have I heard of anyone actually finding puppy teeth, but so far we have found all 4 that he has lost within the last week or so.

Is there anything we can do (aside from softening his food) to help soothe him? He%26#039;s such a little spoiled baby and he seems to be upset about all of this! Thanks in advance!

Anything to soothe a puppy while losing teeth?
When my puppies are teething I like to stick whole carrots (since your puppy is a small breed I would use whole baby carrots) in the freezer and after they have become frozen give them to the puppy to chew on. Puppies LOVE carrots since a dog does have a sweet tooth! My dogs love carrots more than dog treats!
Reply:Aw. Some pups have it harder than others.

Try running a little rubber chew toy under water and then freezing it for him. The cold will soothe his sore mouth.
Reply:something cold to chew.

I found 2 but that%26#039;s not many.

Softening his food doesn%26#039;t help. The teething baby and/or puppy feels better to have something firm to chew on when teething, and often something cold to chew on helps.
Reply:Lots of stuff to chew.. And frozen green beans, and raw baby carrots!
Reply:Thats weird my chihuahua hasn%26#039;t lost his teeth and his 1 year and 4 months... so i%26#039;m not really sure, but it did happen i would just praise him as much as i can, just spoile him more...make him think he%26#039;s the king.
Reply:I have a 6 month old puppy and he is losing his teeth too.. we found 6 of them! We gave him ice cubes to chew on and sticks he seems to really like those and the string with knots on the end u get from the pet store are good too cause he can naw on it... it actually doesn%26#039;t hurt them when there teeth fall out, it%26#039;s just more annoying to them, the part that hurts them is when the teeth are growing back in.
Reply:You can get a %26quot;chilly bone%26quot; at any major pet store.

You wet it and put it in the freezer, then once it%26#039;s frozen you let your dog chew and lick it. It soothes their teeth and gums.

My papillon loved his chilly bone.
Reply:Hi! i have a 7month pup who already went thru the stressful teething stage. I have also been able to collect his teeth too.lol. But what we did was buy a medium size raw hide that will help them loosen up more their teeth. I always knew when my pup will loose a tooth, only because i was able to see the spots of blood on the rawhide. Once i saw that i will go straight to the freezer and give my pup ice cubes to help stop the bleeding n soothe his teeth. It works trust me. i have also tried the chilly bone that you put in the freezer but it doesnt last long like ice cubes do.

But make sure you keep watching your dog when his chewing wt toys.Good luck! Also don%26#039;t be surprise if they%26#039;re cranky!lol.
Reply:Ice cubes to play with in the water bowl.....they also make Chilly Bones-freezable chewy toys for teething pups.
