How do I overcome my anxiety and depression about losing my teeth?

I have intense anxiety about a worse case scenario of losing my molars and not being able to chew anymore. Currently I have all my teeth but I may lose 2 major molars because the crowns don%26#039;t stay glued on. Even if I lose these 2 molars I will still have one more molar chewing surface left, but am afraid what if something happens to these teeth as well. To overcome my anxiety I need to know how I would cope in the worst case scenario of losing all my molars. How would I be able to keep my weight on if I can%26#039;t chew anymore? I know there are dentures, but what if the dentures fail from a gag reflex or the partial keeps falling off? I would be so depressed not being able to eat regular food anymore. I love to eat. Just the thought of the worst case scenario depresses me and makes me anxious even though it may never get this far. If I do ever lose my teeth, how would I survive? What could I eat if I can%26#039;t chew/if the dentures fail? I fear wasting away and starving to death.

How do I overcome my anxiety and depression about losing my teeth?
First, crowns shouldn%26#039;t come lose. They are probably incorrectly molded. Dentist and labs lose money if they have to remake crowns so they have a tendency not to tell you if that is the problem. Ask! Second, you can always get implants if you have to which are artificial teeth implanted directly into jaw bone. Actors occasionally have all there teeth pulled and replaced with implants because they are perfect, unlike real teeth. Third and last, no one ever starved for lack of teeth. This is an irrational fear so you should see a councilor about it.

Good luck!
Reply:hmm...if you can swallow then you should try LEXAPRO. i have been on it for about 4 years now and i am 13. my mom and the whole side of her family also takes it. it doesnt have many side effects and it is worth it. try it, and your depression and anxiety will be gone. when i first got recommened to take it, i was scared it woukld change me, but it doesnt. this is the best pill i have ever discovered and it has been life changing for me.

good luck
Reply:Please don%26#039;t worry anymore! Your molars can be replaced with dental implants. The technology for them gets better all the time. Once you have them in, they are permanent, and you can chew and eat just like before.
Reply:Just get a partial.. My cousin lost ALL his teeth, and he%26#039;s fine. That was 10 yrs ago. he had chronic gingivitis
