Very old dog losing teeth?

I know it is normal for older dogs. I do brush her teeth. I have only had her since february. Never had a dental cleaning. 12 yrs old 13 in september. She had all of them last week and noticed 2 of them gone on the top front just minutes ago. I do check them reuarly and not really much tarter just very bad breath.

does this mean they will start going fast. does this mean she is not going to be with us much longer. She gets around very normal and I was planning a dental cleaning in a month or so. I started brushing them when i got her and spraying with the mouth spray. any advice would be helpful or anyone has gone through this

thank u in advance

Very old dog losing teeth?
Could be periodontal disease-- we see it a lot in older pets, especially those who have never had a dental. There are many dental conditions in dogs and cats, just as in people.

I would have the vet take a look as best as possible to get a rough idea of whether there is a lot of gingivitis (gum inflammation), tartar or other dental problem.

Kudos on the tooth brushing! I wish more folks brushed their pets%26#039; teeth-- it would make doing these prophy cleanings so much easier, and save these pets a lot of problems with the kidneys down the road.

Unresolved dental problems and bad teeth are the #1 reason for kidney and heart problems in older pets-- you are doing a huge thing to preserve your buddy%26#039;s health. :)

Call your vet tomorrow morning and set up a time for an oral pre-exam and even preanesthesia bloodwork-- then get your friend in to have those teeth cleaned and cared for ASAP... he%26#039;ll feel SO much better for it, and so will you!!
Reply:bad odor is common with old dogs
Reply:if her breath is bad.........that means infection.........bad teeth.....antibiotics and vet
Reply:It sounds like she may have gingivitis or stomatitis. Can you bring forward the vet visit? They may be able to help prevent further tooth loss. Diet may play a part in it, this you would need to talk over with your vet.

It doesn%26#039;t mean she%26#039;s going to die, I have known dogs and cats who have lived for around 8 years after losing teeth, it just means they have to eat soft food, which isn%26#039;t that great but they can %26#039;survive%26#039; on it, not necessarily healthily though.
Reply:look at it his way, if she bites someone her teeth will fall out.
Reply:Dental cleaning/Antibiotics (if needed) NOW, not in a month.

If your teeth were falling out and your breath was very foul from infection... wouldn%26#039;t you want antibiotics and a dental cleaning NOW? Or would you rather wait a month..?

Dream about losing teeth/nose bone! Interpretation?

In my dream, one of my teeth fell out and then also the bone in my nose (the bone actually resembled the shape of my whole nose, if that%26#039;s at all important!), and I had friends around me, but I forget the circumstances. There were parts of the bone left in my nose thta I was tring to get out also. Interpretations?

Dream about losing teeth/nose bone! Interpretation?
I%26#039;ve had the dream about my teeth falling out many times and It%26#039;s really scary. Actually it%26#039;s not a dream, it%26#039;s a nightmare!
Reply:i believe it has ramifications toward the financial side of your life and difficulties associated with finances
Reply:what every makes your budget happy, and then you as well. make sure they work together, even if that means wait.
Reply:Perhaps there%26#039;s something about yourself that you don%26#039;t want them to know, something you%26#039;ve done or said or think, or something you feel insecure about when you%26#039;re with those friends.

Not necessarily insecurity about your teeth or nose, but those are representative of two things that if lost are difficult to hide, or their absence is embarrassing...people might look on with shock or horror, and may reject you.
Reply:Wow!! I used to have similar dreams!! very similar!! I just put down to the fact my worst nightmare would be to loose my teeth at a young age.
Reply:maybe you simply think of losing your teeth (which might happens) or your nose (which is more rare)...
Reply:Its like you have lots of responsibilities and you are overwhelm . Is someone is sick in your family / because yes you can loose a family member or a good friend
Reply:Don%26#039;t spend a lot of money. As you may be broke very soon.

Finance issue.
Reply:If it helps, you are not alone. I often dream of my teeth falling out. I don%26#039;t know what it means but financial status and fearing rejection sound reasonable to me.
Reply:I%26#039;ve had this exact dream, only my nose bone looked a little like a wishbone! I wish I knew what it meant too!
Reply:I break your dream down for you:

tooth loss dreams are very common for a lot of people as it can also symbolise the loss of our childhood innocence.

Your dream may be a message that an important milestone is occurring and urging you to face the inevitable. Losing teeth in dreams can also point to insecurity about finances.

To see bones in your dream, suggests the discovery of your personal, family, or cultural secrets. It is also symbolic of your underlying strengths that you have not yet recognised.

To dream of broken bones, signifies that you have discovered or realised that there is a weakness in your plans or in your thinking. Your dream may call for you immediate attention to a particular situation or relationship.

The next time you dream about losing teeth, or the bone in your nose, before trying to figure out what it means, ask yourself how the dream made you feel.

Dreams about losing teeth?

i keep dreaming that my teeth are falling out! does anyone know what this could mean?

Dreams about losing teeth?
Well, I guess you need to go to dream moods...whatever website. If you are going back to school soon, you could be scared about failing or not be accepted..etc....which would kinda fit in with some of the website stuff.... no having the power to make good grades....or not feeling you will measure up in terms of your appearance. So, gotta say...be yourself and be in the moment ....have fun learning and doing and being and not thinking bad thoughts...people like fun loving, alive, interesting people...not perfect people.
Reply:It means that you think you%26#039;re life is crumbling around you and it%26#039;s out of control! Or else you have a tooth ache!
Reply:One theory is that dreams about your teeth reflect your anxiety about your appearance and how others perceive you.

Another rationalization for these falling teeth dream may be rooted in your fear of being embarrassed or making a fool of yourself in some specific situation.
Reply:Dreams that your teeth are falling out are the most common dreams. Common dream scenarios include having your teeth crumbling in your hands or your teeth falling out one by one with just a light tap. Such dreams are not only horrifying and shocking, but often leaves the dreamer with a lasting image of the dream. So what does it mean?

One theory is that dreams about your teeth reflect your anxiety about your appearance and how others perceive you. Sadly, we live in a world where good looks are valued highly and your teeth play an important role in conveying that image. Teeth are used in the game of flirtations, whether it be a dazzling and gleaming smile or affectionate necking. These dreams may stem from a fear of your sexual impotence or the consequences of getting old. Teeth are an important feature of our attractiveness and presentation to others. Everybody worries about how they appear to others. Caring about our appearance is natural and healthy.

Another rationalization for these falling teeth dream may be rooted in your fear of being embarrassed or making a fool of yourself in some specific situation. These dreams are an over-exaggeration of your worries and anxiety.

Teeth are used to bite, tear, chew and gnaw. In this regard, teeth represent power. And the loss of teeth in your dream may be from a sense of powerlessness. Are you lacking power in some current situation? Perhaps you are having difficulties expressing yourself or getting your point across. You feel frustrated when your voice is not being heard. You may be experiencing feelings of inferiority and a lack of self-confidence in some situation or relationship in your life. This dream is an indication that you need to be more assertive and believe in the value of your own opinion.

In the latest research, it has been shown that women in menopause have frequent dreams about teeth. This may be related to getting older and/or feeling unattractive and less feminine.

Traditionally, it was thought that dreaming that you did not have teeth, represent malnutrition which may be applicable to some dreamers.

Other Perspectives

A scriptural interpretation for bad or falling teeth indicate that you are putting your faith, trust, and beliefs in what man thinks rather than in the word of God. The bible says that God speaks once, yea twice in a dream or a vision in order to hide pride from us, to keep us back from the pit, to open our ears (spiritually) and to instruct and correct us.

In the Greek culture, when you dream about loose, rotten, or missing teeth, it indicates that a family member or close friend is very sick or even near death.

According to the Chinese, there is a saying that your teeth will fall out if your are telling lies.

It has also been said that if you dream of your teeth falling out, then it symbolizes money. This is based on the old tooth fairy story. If you lose a tooth and leave it under the pillow, a tooth fairy would bring you money.

Toy Poodle losing teeth?

Hello I have a 4month old toy poodle and i noticed that his front baby teeth are falling out. I believe that%26#039;s normal, but i%26#039;m not sure because its his front teeth??

Toy Poodle losing teeth?
All dogs start teething at around 3 months, losing their incisors first. They%26#039;ve got all their adult teeth between 7 - 8 months, getting their molars last. But they lose all of their teeth.

To help your puppy while he%26#039;s teething, make sure he%26#039;s got lots of toys of different textures to chew on. Also, if you take an old wash cloth, wet it, freeze it, then give it to him to chew on, he%26#039;ll find that very, very soothing for his sore gums.
Reply:I%26#039;m not sure... I would call your Vet and ask, just to be safe.

please answer my question?!?

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...
Reply:yea that%26#039;s totally normal that suppose 2 happen so he can get his adult teeth(which are a little bigger)!
Reply:yes it%26#039;s normal, the permanent teeth push the baby teeth out when they start coming in. you should be able to feel the new teeth that are replacing the other, get a good quality rawhide bone for him to chew on.
Reply:ya its normal i hav a poodle too and it grew back.
Reply:Yep = Normal
Reply:Your dog is goiong to loose all of its teeth jusy like kids do. but i would wear shoes for a while b.c those little things hurt!

What do you do to feed a very old cat who is losing her teeth?

My 20 year old cat has lost most of her teeth on the top left hand side of her mouth. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this subject. She%26#039;s losing weight because it hurts her to eat but she seems to be in no pain otherwise. I am feeding her soft food and soft cat treats but I was thinking about seeing if she%26#039;ll drink Ensure. Any ideas? Thanks!

What do you do to feed a very old cat who is losing her teeth?
You%26#039;re doing the right thing, soft foods. At 20 years old, you must have done a great job at keeping her healthy.

I don%26#039;t think I would try Ensure, there is a %26quot;kitten glop%26quot; I found for orphaned kittens and older cats can eat it to.

INGREDIENTS:

1 lg. can evaporated milk (not Milnot)

2 tbsp. plain yogurt (not diet)

2 tbsp. mayonnaise (real)

1 tbs. Karo Syrup (light)

1 pkg. Knox gelatin

1 egg yolk (beaten)

1 cup of liquid unflavored Pedialyte

INSTRUCTIONS:

Mix milk, yogurt, mayonnaise and syrup together well.

Bring 1 cup water to boil and mix in Knox gelatin; set aside.

Mix egg yolk with small amount of milk mixture and beat well.

Add gelatin and water to milk mixture and beat well. Add in egg yolk mixture and beat well.

Pour into a freezer safe bowl or similar type of bowl with a cover and set in refrigerator.

We usually use Ice Cube Trays for our glop pudding. Pudding will last for two weeks covered in refrigerator.

Always warm pudding to room temperature (milk form) before feeding.

It is very rich in calcium, this pudding can be used as a supplement for kittens, sick cats and show cats to put on weight. Several Veterinarians have approved this recipe as being balanced and nutritious.
Reply:ask a vet!
Reply:Soft cat food
Reply:there is a milk supplement made for cats they sell it in petsmart maybe you can try that...good luck poor kitty
Reply:Poor Kitty, the humane thing to give it is eternal rest..Tough call but if you were it?
Reply:Soft food is the best you can do. Ensure has too much sugar, even the lactose free one will upset her stomach. You can always take baby beef and wateat down and wisk it to make a meaty shake for her. This happens commonly and you are doing what you can for her. Good luck.
Reply:You should consult the vet. Never give him human food though. It could be very bad for digestion.
Reply:Ya, I%26#039;m dealing with a 14 year old cat with the same problem. I%26#039;ve softened up canned food with the water from tinned tuna which she seems to like, and although I never gave it to her during her life, I%26#039;m now giving her cream because of the fat content and she needs the calories. I haven%26#039;t tried ensure, but that ought to help, maybe I%26#039;ll try that too. Anything to keep her happy.
Reply:ASK HER VET FIRST ON THAT. TRY TUNA AND SOFT CANNED FOODS . SHE CAN GUMM IT. MAYBE SHE HAS A SORE TOOTH IN THERE AND THAT IS CAUSING THE WEIGHT LOSS. TOOTHLESS CATS CAN EAT CANNED FOOD IF THERE IS NO SORE GUMS. HAVE HER VET LOOK IN THERE, :)
Reply:gerber?
Reply:My cat has cancer, no teeth. Fancy Feast grilled tuna in gravy stuck in a blender with some prescription a/d. Start at shred and add a little water, blend at liquify for about 6 minutes. Licks it right up!

If you blend a 3 can batch a little thick and store it in a glass jar in the fridge, you can microwave a little water and add it to a few tablespoons and use the hot water to thin it and heat it at the same time. Looks like a chocolate milkshake, smells like tuna.
Reply:Just call your local, Animal Hosp., %26amp; they can help you, with the most best foods %26amp; drinks, for your Cat.
Reply:She probably has hyperthyroidism and borderline kidney function also. Almost all cats that age do. Feeding a high quality canned cat food is a good idea. Ask the vet or order online either Felovite, or Nutracal. It is a flavored %26quot;gel%26quot; type stuff in a tube that can provide extra calories and vitamins.

Ensure not a great idea. She probably will not drink it and diarrhea can result, which could kill her.
Reply:Same thing you feed any cat if you understand feline nutrition - a good quality wet cat food.

Read this and you%26#039;ll know more about feeding a cat than most vets:

http://www.catinfo.org
Reply:soft cat food. you don%26#039;t want to give a cat ensure.
Reply:BLENDER!!!!!
Reply:Pre chew her food for her
Reply:add water and make her food into a gruel, can also add some meat flavored baby food to keep her interested.
Reply:We had a cat who lived to be 22, but had no teeth. The vet said to feed her meat baby food, which she loved. Just make sure it has no garlic or onions.
Reply:Soft canned food, no people food not approved by a vet. Love this kitty. I had one that lived to be 21.

What does it mean if you constantly dream about losing some of your teeth?

I have had many dreams of losing my teeth which have terrified me lol, not constantly in a row, but every now and again. What does this mean?

What does it mean if you constantly dream about losing some of your teeth?
well usually dreams of loose teeth, rotting teeth, or losing teeth have something to do with stress and anxiety.

It%26#039;s your subconcious%26#039; way of telling yourself that you are afraid you are losing control of a situation or that you are afraid that people are thinking less of you.
Reply:you%26#039;re going to get into a fight. better make sure they dont hit you in the face.
Reply:I don%26#039;t know, but that is awful!!
Reply:I think it means your fearful of something.
Reply:it%26#039;s means your obsessed with your teath
Reply:nothing? maybe you are just dreaming about losing your teeth. lol
Reply:Has it been some time since you%26#039;ve seen a dentist? You could be feeling guilty.
Reply:Very common dream. What it means I have no idea.

It is a strange sensation though.
Reply:To bob and weave next time. Bob and use your weave!
Reply:I have these same dreams!! Theyre like nightmares!
Reply:Same thing happens to me too. I%26#039;m not sure what it means though.
Reply:I went through that period too. still happenes from time to time.

Still have my teeth though.
Reply:it means that you regret something that you%26#039;ve told someone or just said outloud. and i know this for a fact. i heard it from a dream therapist
Reply:you feel like you are outta control or loosing control someone in your life
Reply:Understand it means you are going to lose a friend.
Reply:Dreams about teeth usually represent an anxiety, I think teeth falling out means your worried about money, or will have a financial problem soon.
Reply:It mean%26#039;s about home trouble like yelling and stuff
Reply:the fear of failure or embarassment

also could mean that you said something that you probably shouldn%26#039;t have

its relatively common
Reply:My dream dictionary indicates that loose teeth are a warning of untrustworthy friends; if they fell out or you spit them out, it is a sign of a season of financial reverses.....
Reply:I am so glad to hear that I am not the only one with this dream. I asked a counselor friend of mine what my teeth-loss dreams meant, and she said it represents fear of losing something that is important to my everyday functioning but also about losing something that is important to me, appearance-wise. She said to examine my current anxieties and try to identify what I am afraid of losing or not keeping/maintaining. Hope this helps!
Reply:Means you have to stop eating sweeties! Seriously though I don%26#039;t know but it%26#039;s quite common - especially grinding which is horrible.
Reply:I have that same dream, repeatedly actually. I%26#039;m kinda phobic about my dental hygiene though so I think it%26#039;s just my fear of losing my teeth.According to an online dream dictionary, dreams of your teeth falling out this means that your lies are hurting someone very badly and that you will soon be found out. I think that%26#039;s a total crock of crap.
Reply:It could mean several things, one would have to know a little more about you to give you a proper interpretation. It could mean you%26#039;re feeling guilty or ashamed about something.
Reply:as far as i am aware it means that you are loosing friends.
Reply:It means that people are going to die that are close to you. It happened to me and i stumbled across a superstitious book and read it for myself. Then, out of nowhere 3 relatives died in my family months apart.
Reply:Theres a book in my house that give explanations of dreams and what they mean. Its really interesting.

Apparently when teeth are falling out in a dream or coming out easily means we are going through some form of a transformation e.g. from childhood to maturity or maturity to old age and helplessness.

If someone is anxious about teeth dropping out it suggests there is a fear about getting old and undesirable or maturing.

I hope for your sake it is not maturity into old age and helplessness haha =) Hope this helps.
Reply:I had similar dreams/nightmares and someone told me it meant illness or being struck by a serious illness, nothing happened at the time of my dreams, but six months later I was severely ill. After that I never had those dreams again, very strange.
Reply:it means anxiety, youre afraid somethings going to go wrong or youre worried about something...

When do puppies start losing their baby teeth?

I have a 6 month old shih tzu puppy. when will he start losing his teeth?

When do puppies start losing their baby teeth?
It doesnt exactly matter, he will swallow them or spit them out, they are not harmful to your dog, most people dont even notice when their puppy looses its teeth. I have a boxer/pitbull cross big yellow mutt, and i was lucky to find 3 of his teeth! they were soooo tiny, and i noticed the first two because he was chewing on nothing out of no where, and thought he ate something hje shouldnt have, when i took a look, it was his tooth!!!
Reply:He should have lost all of his deciduous (puupy, milk) teeth by now. If he has retained deciduous teeth these can be removed at the veterinarians when he is under anesthesia for his up coming neutering which should be done soon :)
Reply:Probably already has lost some. They usually swallow them and you wont even notice.
Reply:He probably has about a month ago already. They usually start losing baby teeth by 5 months. you usually don%26#039;t even notice when they do. Because new ones come in right under the old ones.
Reply:OMG MY BOYFRIEND IS GETTING ME A SHIH TZU!! sOO friggin cute mannn!

My 5 month old Yorkie is losing his teeth...?

My 5 month old Yorkie is losing his teeth, is this normal? How long will it be before he grows his new teeth and what should I feed him?

My 5 month old Yorkie is losing his teeth...?
Just like children lose teeth to get adult permanent teeth so do puppies. Feed him like normal because he shouldn%26#039;t lose his teeth all at once. It should be one or two at a time, and it shouldn%26#039;t take very long for him to get them all back. If you really get concerned feed him softer food and talk to your vet.
Reply:wash your vagina..it smells Report It

Reply:It%26#039;s the right age for the puppy teeth to drop out while the adult teeth grow in. The adult teeth will be visiable very soon.
Reply:Yes this is normal. His new teeth should be in within a month. You can keep feeding him what you have been.
Reply:Yes, it is. His adult incisors are probably coming in now, his canines will be soon, then the premolars and molars. All adult teeth are fully in by eight months of age.
Reply:Dogs naturally lose their %26quot;baby teeth%26quot; just like people do. At 5 months he%26#039;s losing his puppy teeth and growing in adult ones. You shouldnt need to change his diet at all as they will only fall out one or two at a time and the new teeth will grow in relatively quickly.
Reply:This is normal, he is just losing his baby teeth. His new ones should be coming in very soon.

Keep giving him his regular food, along with rawhide bones for chewing. A little bit of gum bleeding is normal. If they bleed alot, you might want to soften his food with water/milk, or just feed him canned wet food. You want something hard for him to chew on though, so they fall out, so if they aren%26#039;t bleeding too bad then don%26#039;t change any thing.

good luck with the puppy!!
Reply:Sounds like he is teething. That is the right age for it.
Reply:be sure all the puppy teeth come out eventually. Sometimes a puppy tooth won%26#039;t come out as it should and it will really mess up the alignment of the adult teeth.
Reply:He is just losing his puppy teeth, just like children lose their baby teeth. Feed him his normal food and give him plenty of chew toys since he is like a teething baby right now. Frozen wash cloths work great as a chew toy when his gums are sore from teething. Just get some cheap ones, wet them down, wring, and freeze. They really work great.
Reply:This is completely normal with puppies (as with children) They loose their %26quot;puppy%26quot; teeth and the get their adult teeth very soon after the baby teeth fallout. These are their permanent teeth for all their life, so take care of them.... brush their teeth and make sure they have dental checks when they go to your vet. If needed they will do cleaning etc. Good luck with your puppy
Reply:Yes it normal . Feed the normal food or Royal Canin puppy food is good to thats what I use. Feed your dog carrots baby ones it good for his teeth %26amp; eyes. I feed my dog carrot to it helped with the teething , just give him 1 to 3 baby carrots a day . my vet said its healthy for them broccoli is good for them too. wet food tends to make teeth have more plax . brushing your dogs teeth will help too.
Reply:its fine, dont worry. when my aussy was 3months she started loosing hers. within 4 days she had lost all 4 front teeth. it was so cute. but you could see the new ones coming in within a few days. we were a little worried about one canine, the new one came in behind it, and both were there for about 2 weeks, but one day we were playing with a knotted rope and i thought she had spit at me (she%26#039;s a drooler) but then i noticed it was just the baby one that had finally come out (that was the only tooth we found of hers, she must have swallowed the rest)
Reply:It is normal, if he is having trouble chewing, just moisten his food with water till his teeth come in, that way you don%26#039;t have to keep changing his food
Reply:Yes it is normal... keep feeding him like you normally would. The adult teeth come through within a few days!!!
Reply:The same happened to my dog when he was that age. I guess it%26#039;s them loosing their baby teeth! He%26#039;s 6 months now. He lost a couple of teeth but he%26#039;s fine now. I still fed him is dry food only i took his chew bones away from him cuz he would bleed all over them because when he bit on them and chewed, then the tooth would fall out. So yea, make sure you vaccum cuz you%26#039;ll find teeth all over your house. He also had diahrrea for a little while. he did drink more water but it lasted for about a month and now he%26#039;s perfectly fine and his new teeth are just gorgeous! Good Luck....
Reply:first calm down. this is normal for any dog. dogs lose their teeth just like humans. i would fee him what you are feeding him normally. you can tell how long it will take to grow the new tooth in but your pup will be fine.

P.S. if you find the tooth it is very rare because they are usually in the vacume now or he swalloed it which is ok.
Reply:it is very normal. he is changing from puppy teeth to adult teeth. keep feeding him his regular hard kibble. it will actually help him to alleviate the pain and irritation. like babies, teething puppies need things to chew on. they have teething toys that will help in this process. it will grow back in no time.

Im not losing my teeth am i??

like, on the top of my mouth, the molars are sore around where they meet the gum and a little bit higher, (barley higher) but, i dont have cavities or anything, but there are small dots and lines on them, but all my dentists say they arent cavities.

im not losing my teeth am i?

im only 14..

will rinsing alot with listerine after brushing help?

please help me!

Im not losing my teeth am i??
I%26#039;ve had that before, I know exactly what you%26#039;re explaining... I%26#039;m not sure what it is or what causes it, but it should go away in a couple of days. It may be VERY slight gingivitis, but doesn%26#039;t mean that you%26#039;re not brushing properly everyone gets it at one point of their life. It%26#039;ll go away, promise :0)
Reply:Yep.

You won%26#039;t have any teeth by the time you%26#039;re 17.
Reply:when i was a young child.... it took my teeth a while to fall out. and they hurt too. but they will come out. or maybe even have to be pulled. don%26#039;t get whorried. have a nice day!
Reply:it sounds like you have the beginnings of gum disease, which, in time could cost you your teeth. You need to brush, floss and rinse daily to prevent gum disease. You are too young to lose your teeth so keeep up a daily dental maintainence program starting today.
Reply:Floss, Floss, Floss. It may bother you to floss (morning %26amp; night)., but it will get better. Keep using listerine. It is great. You may also want to consider taking vitamin C. It is good for your gums.
Reply:don%26#039;t worry i have that to and i am only 10!!!!!!!!!!!!! i never had cavities. So i%26#039;m used to it
Reply:Have your dentist or hygienist check your brushing. Yes, you may have gingivitis, or you could be overdoing it with the brushing and irritating your gumline.

If your dentist says you%26#039;re OK, you probably should believe him/her--they%26#039;re the experts, and no one here has seen your teeth!

Good luck,

Reply:I am not sure this will help you but I am sure It want hurt you and most dentists want tell you this.Vitamin c is very important to some peoples teeth. If you fell you are getting plenty vitamin C I hope you get the answer you need from someone else. The vitamin C is cheap and want take but about a week to see if it works.500 mg twice a day for a week will tell if its the problem and want hurt you if not.

How do I overcome my anxiety and depression about losing my teeth?

I have intense anxiety about a worse case scenario of losing my molars and not being able to chew anymore. Currently I have all my teeth but I may lose 2 major molars because the crowns don%26#039;t stay glued on. Even if I lose these 2 molars I will still have one more molar chewing surface left, but am afraid what if something happens to these teeth as well. To overcome my anxiety I need to know how I would cope in the worst case scenario of losing all my molars. How would I be able to keep my weight on if I can%26#039;t chew anymore? I know there are dentures, but what if the dentures fail from a gag reflex or the partial keeps falling off? I would be so depressed not being able to eat regular food anymore. I love to eat. Just the thought of the worst case scenario depresses me and makes me anxious even though it may never get this far. If I do ever lose my teeth, how would I survive? What could I eat if I can%26#039;t chew/if the dentures fail? I fear wasting away and starving to death.

How do I overcome my anxiety and depression about losing my teeth?
If you believe the worse thing that could happen is inability for chewing think there are many people that can%26#039;t do that: babies and old people.... and they survive... well, they %26quot;eat%26quot; only liquids or smooth food. You definitely won%26#039;t go into starvation... you can%26#039;t. And science won%26#039;t allow it!

I read the case of Stephen Hawking. He is a famous physician. And he is almost 100% disabled: He can%26#039;t move... he can%26#039;t even talk! About 40 years ago he was said he would live only 3 years... And he is now about 60! I think this is a really extreme case.

So don%26#039;t worry: you have aesthetic and nutritional alternatives.
Reply:Stephen Hawking is a PHYSICIST, not a Physician! BTW, he%26#039;s got Lou Gehrigs disease. Report It

Reply:Just be glad you aren%26#039;t at risk for losing your front teeth. Now THAT would be hard to hide. If you got the money or dental insurance, ask about mini implants.
Reply:Many people have lived with even full plate dentures for most of their lives. It is very common and really isn%26#039;t a big deal in our day and age and with our dental technologies. It is highly unlikely that there is anything inherently different about you that you would be any exception.

However, this sounds like an obssessive compulsive phobic condition that you may have - it is certainly irrational - so you should seek out the help of a therapist. I recommend a therapist who uses a behavioral approach such as lifespan integration or cognitive therapy. You would probably only need a few sessions to get relief from this fear. Here is a link to lifespan integration and where to find a therapist who does it: http://www.lifespanintegration.com/direc...
Reply:Talk to your dentist about the anxiety you are feeling about your teeth. There should be several options available to you. If this type of anxiety is overwhelming, perhaps talking to a therapist would be beneficial. Good luck to you.
Reply:If its bad enough that you cant chew anymore, than you could still drink apple sauce and other stuff like that. But just dont worry, stress is the leading cause behind many bigger illnesses. You just have to think on the positive side, think that you wont lose your teeth or just think about things other than that, and if its really that bad, mabye talk to a therapist.
Reply:You can and will be able to chew even if you don%26#039;t have ANY of your teeth. I used to live with someone that once broke her jaw and during surgery they had to remove all of her teeth and she never went back to get them fixed and she eats anything and everything she could even when she had all of her teeth.
Reply:Read %26quot;Invisible Monsters%26quot; by Chuck Palahniuk.
Reply:Oh sweetie you are getting upset for nothing, Before I got my dentures which was 2 years ago , I only had like 8 teeth left and I still was able to eat. Stop fretting and if you see your dentist regularly I%26#039;m sure you will be fine. Now take a deep breath and stop worrying.

How do I overcome my anxiety and depression about losing my teeth?
First, crowns shouldn%26#039;t come lose. They are probably incorrectly molded. Dentist and labs lose money if they have to remake crowns so they have a tendency not to tell you if that is the problem. Ask! Second, you can always get implants if you have to which are artificial teeth implanted directly into jaw bone. Actors occasionally have all there teeth pulled and replaced with implants because they are perfect, unlike real teeth. Third and last, no one ever starved for lack of teeth. This is an irrational fear so you should see a councilor about it.

Good luck!
Reply:hmm...if you can swallow then you should try LEXAPRO. i have been on it for about 4 years now and i am 13. my mom and the whole side of her family also takes it. it doesnt have many side effects and it is worth it. try it, and your depression and anxiety will be gone. when i first got recommened to take it, i was scared it woukld change me, but it doesnt. this is the best pill i have ever discovered and it has been life changing for me.

Reply:Please don%26#039;t worry anymore! Your molars can be replaced with dental implants. The technology for them gets better all the time. Once you have them in, they are permanent, and you can chew and eat just like before.

Should I be worried about losing my teeth?

Once in while whenever I bite down and then move my tongue against my teeth if feels like one of them moves slightly, but when I go to the mirror I can%26#039;t see any movement, and it doesn%26#039;t even do this all the time. Even when I try to wiggle it with my fingers it doesnt move. I went to the dentist a month ago, and he looked at my teeth and took xrays and he didnt say anything about a loose tooth. I%26#039;m only 17 and although I didn%26#039;t take very good care of my teeth for the earlier part of my life, I now brush 3 times a day. The dentist did say that my gums were inflamed but that didnt surprise me. So none of my teeth visibly move and only 1 feels like it moves sometimes. If I had a serious problem my dentist would have told me right. Im asking bc Im really paranoid and all that I think about is losing my teeth. I really obsess about it but should I be worried

Should I be worried about losing my teeth?
Everyone%26#039;s teeth wiggle a little bit... and I mean wiggling as in barely noticable at all. Your dentist would have told you if you were having major issues with your teeth. At 17, you really should have nothing to worry about. Since your gums are inflammed, you should keep brushing well and keep going to have your teeth cleaned every 6 months. Also, FLOSS!!!!!! It%26#039;s just as important as brushing if not more so. You can use Listerine, too. Stop getting paranoid about your teeth - just take care of them and enjoy life :)
Reply:think about it, could de serious
Reply:Quit messing around with the tooth or you will loosen it. The dentist would have told you if there was something wrong.
Reply:no don,t worry they can fall out then you can get some more
Reply:I suppose the dentist knows best. If he took those x-rays, then they were all tell-tale of what shape your mouth is in. Just keep doing what you are doing. You are taking good care of your teeth. Sometimes when you move your tounge over a tooth, you do tend to get the illusion that it moves, but it really doesn%26#039;t. Just keep brushing like you are doing, you should be fine.
Reply:Sounds like you got scurvy. Eat more vitamin C
Reply:It happens sometimes there have been people i know who wound up with 3 sets of teeth
Reply:No, Not to be worried.. This happens to me last time when I felt something on my mouth in the end I realise it is actually the gum going to drop! Omg?! That might be kinda worse!! I was very scared and I went to the dentist. The dentist did give me some advise . The dentist advise me to when night time going to brush teeth, Use a cup and put some tap water and add a little salt in it mix well and pour in the mouth a little bit and throe out. You can try this.

Losing milk teeth?

About 1 week ago my 5 yr old son bit into an apple and complained of pain. After examination i noticed his bottom front tooth was wiggling a bit. I just assumed that he had started losing his milk teeth and we all got excited about it.

I have noticed since then that his tooth has discolored, and is wiggling more and more. I thought discoloration was a sign of trauma, and not losing milk teeth.

Am I wrong, and this is in fact normal? Or should I be worried?

Losing milk teeth?
Probably not trauma, At 5 many kids are losing their teeth.

By the time the tooth comes out, it is little more that a shell. the root has been resorbed and the inside of the tooth is dead so the discoloration comes from the tissue left inside the little shell. Since it bled, that tissue is probably stained with blood. So the discoloration really is coming from the inside of the tooth. With some wiggling, it should come out soon.
Reply:It could be trauma. My daughter had an accident with her tooth when she was a baby and the dentist said to keep an eye on it to make sure that it didn%26#039;t go completely rotten. The likelihood of the trauma affecting then adult teeth are slim, but it might be worth a check up.

What does losing your teeth in a dream mean?

I was wondering if anyone knew what loosing your teeth in a dream mean. I have been having them alot and im not stressed about anything at least i dont think. to be specific my dreams are different sometimes. Sometimes in my dreams the teeth just fall out out of nowhere, sometimes my dreams consist of me purposely putting my bottom row of teeth over the top row of my teeth and bite down as hard as i can until my teeth crack out of my jaw and then i spit them out. While im cracking my teeth too i may also add that im not controlling it. its not like i want to do it in my dreams its like my body is doing it and i want to stop and i dont know how. i may also add that i can actually feel the pain, the before pain too like when in inhale a whole bunch of air goes in my gums and it hurts and i can feel my teeth loose in my gums. The most recent was not about me losing my teeth but about me having black charcoal teeth but that was just once. all the other times involve my teeth falling out

What does losing your teeth in a dream mean?
are you going to the dentist anytime soon???do u think your teeth are ugly...are u finding out u need braces....etc....any of these factors coudl cause these dreams
Reply:it means you had a dream.
Reply:my mom says that it means death. :(

eesh.

sorry.

i know that poop means money...
Reply:you are having issues with someone. jeaousy possibly.
Reply:Usually it symbolizes language. YOu are having a hard time in real life saying something. Something is either stopping you for saying something, or you%26#039;re stopping yourself. You%26#039;re clearly very distraught and emotionally disturbed by this in your unconscious and your dreams are trying to deal with it directly.
Reply:Because teeth are so closey related to our image and appearance. And so easily visible to others. It means that you have lots of doubts about your appearance.
Reply:Possibly are not truly expressing yourself. You are holding back as to how you really feel.
Reply:What does teeth symbolize to you?

Strength? or Food?

Normally that is what your mind is linking the image to.
Reply:Ha ha! I can actually answer this! My sister did a big study on dream interpretation, and if I remmeber correctly it means that you are experiencing a sense of powerlessness, or losing control in some area of your life.
Reply:its means death 4 real i have premonition dreams thingy and they kome true
Reply:I have a similar dream, in my dream, I dream I forgot to put my teeth in. I have dentures, I am sure you didn%26#039;t need to know that, but I do believe it is just a fear, and nothing else. Have you been having any teeth pain? I am sure you are probably afraid you will lose your teeth one day... just take care of your teeth, there is nothing like your own teeth.
Reply:It means that there is something that you are doing in real life that you should stop because its hurting you. If you don%26#039;t know what it is then you will know. It will still heart you. You should find out what it is. Anyway its just a dream. Its not like its real.

Reply:it means you are worried about something
Reply:It is very common. in The Interpretation of Dreams, Freud named it as one of the four %26quot;typical dreams,%26quot; along with %26quot;falling from a height, ... flying, and embarrassment because one is naked or scantily clad.%26quot;

falling teeth can denote a weak area in trying to get a grip on life. You are vulnerable to not chewing or digesting your problems or concerns without the aid or a tool of some kind that can make you strong enough to face the real problem(s) at hand and attempt to get to the bottom of it.

We lose our %26quot;baby teeth%26quot; to make room for adult teeth, this is about becoming independent and/or perhaps a need to become more mature or growing up.

or, possibly, the dreams are a manifestation of bruxism (%26quot;the habitual, involuntary grinding or clenching of the teeth, usually during sleep%26quot;). I know I do this while I sleep. Perhaps you do too.
Reply:go to a phychic it might help
Reply:i have this dream dictionary that i got from the library you can get one and it said that when you lose your teeth in a dream is that someone is going to die im sorry to tell you this and i hope you will get well after that and it dosen%26#039;t mean that your going to die.
Reply:Dreaming of teeth falling out may represent insecurity. These dreams often occur at a time of transition between one phase of life and another. When we lost our milk teeth, we also gradually lost our childhood innocence. Loosing your teeth therefore show that today you have similar feelings of uncertainty and self-consciousness as you did in childhood. The dream could also highlight your worries about getting older or your sexual attractiveness.

Animal teeth may represent aggressiveness and false teeth may represent concern about your self-image. The dream could also be triggered by subtle toothache that you are not yet consciously aware of.

In some dream dictionary, tooth loss means disease or u will have to suffer ur disease in the future. If all the teeth fall out it means of your death or someones death.
Reply:Teeth - Losing one%26#039;s teeth is a common dream reflecting concerns about one%26#039;s physical and social appearances, and effectiveness in a competitive environment. Occasionally can reflect literal concerns about dental conditions or procedures.

My babys teeth losing enamel?

my son is 16months old.. never drinks juice out of his bottles.. and when he does have juice its unsweetened kind and very weak... but his teeth seem to be losing the enamel off them.. leavin like a discoloured stump.. it first started when he fell and chipped his bottom 2 teeth, i took him 2 dentist and they said they was only small chips and hardly notiveable as the teeth grow.. now i.ve noticed the top 2 teeth have alike a quare piece of enamel missing. he has.t banged his teeth at all today and it was not like that this mornin when i brushed his teeth.. worried mom here. will be makin app at dentists soon as poss.. any1 know what can be causing this 2 happen

My babys teeth losing enamel?
He may have chipped the front teeth without you knowing, at 16 mos children are usually starting to walk and could very well be that he tripped and chipped, or he could be a clencher. If he already chipped his lower incisor, his bite could also be edge to edge (upper and lowers come together on the edges) and that would also make him more suseptible to chipping those front teeth.

Check with your DDS and see if he can give you the real answer, this could be many different things, but regardless get him checked to be on the safe side, Good luck!

Reply:could be to much fluoride.......juices,cokes,sleeping with bottle with drink and falling asleep with drink pooling in his mouth.....
Reply:The problem is quite possibly that after u brush his teeth u are letting him have a bottle when he lies down. Milk, juice and soda all contribute to this problem. However, it%26#039;s the activity brought on by the enzymes in the babies mouth that cause the damage.

Brush the child%26#039;s teeth before bed, and only allow water in the bottle. The child%26#039;s teeth should be brushed again after he wakes up, and after each meal.

Is It normal for my 5 year old toy fox terrier to be losing teeth?
That happens with small dogs. Their teeth get pulled out from rough play. It is just a fact of life.

Are there any symptoms from losing teeth?

My cousin is about to lose one of her front teeth. Her gums look kind of swollen, though, and my mom says that they%26#039;ve changed color a bit, like darkened... Is this just normal or should we probably go see a dentist?

Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Are there any symptoms from losing teeth?
no, she needs to see a dentist. none of that is normal. it sounds like she has severe periodontal disease.what she does not realize is that she is about to lose ALL or her teeth. get her to the dentist pronto.
Reply:You don%26#039;t mention whether your cousin is a child or an adult, regardless she should be seen by a dentist.
Reply:I recently lost my front teeth and my gums got a little redder before I lost them. It happened little by little so I didn%26#039;t really notice it til my teeth were really loose. If it isn%26#039;t a baby tooth she should probly get to a dentist quick before she looses them all.

When do puppies start losing teeth and do they lose all of them.?

My puppy lost one of her teeth and i am just curious about the subject.

When do puppies start losing teeth and do they lose all of them.?
Puppies lose their teeth. My pup is about 4.5 months old and has lost a majority of his teeth. Sometimes not all come out--especially the canines. Because of this, the vet may need to extract the stubborn teeth. Talk to your vet, but it may be wise to wait to neuter/spay your dog until most of his puppy teeth have fallen out. That way, if an extraction is needed, it can be done while the puppy is under anesthesia for the spay/neuter.

At least that%26#039;s what my vet said about our puppy, You may notice small amounts of blood on their chew toys but that she be a out it.

don%26#039;t always lose all their teeth. Your vet will need to remove those. If not it will throw the bite off.
Reply:Puppies a lot like children lose their teeth. They will lose their first set, like we do, and grow in a permanent pair, plus their molars also grow in. They begin to lose them at about 4 months and it usually ends at about 6 months. But it could also depend on the various breed you have or are planning on getting.

What age do kids start losing teeth?

my daughter just turned four in May. She just lost a tooth, it was wiggling last night and fell out today. i was afraid she hit it on something but swears she didnt. is it normal for a kid that young to lose teeth or would she of had to hit it for it to fall out?

What age do kids start losing teeth?
The average age to lose the first baby tooth is seven years old. Some start earlier, some start later. You say the tooth was hollow, so that would mean that the tooth was ready to come out and was not knocked out. You shouldn%26#039;t worry about anything, your daughter is just more dentally mature than the average kid.
Reply:about 5. . so yes this should be normal. Id double check..take her to a dentist they can tell if its been hit or not.(the nerve might be damaged if so) You should begin taking children to the dentist at 3 years for cleanings and exams
Reply:normally is 6 or 7. 4 seems early but anythings possible. and maybe she forgot hitting it ... ?
Reply:around 4-5 years old... their permanent teeth come in after that. If she hit it hard enough, it could loosen or even knock it out. My son knocked his front teeth out when he was 4.
Reply:its ok my 5 yr old is already lost 3 teeth its when ever they are ready to come out
Reply:they usually start at 4,5,or,6. It is perfectly normal.
Reply:they usually lose start to lose them between the ages 4 and 5. dont worry it was a baby tooth it should grow back
Reply:I would call the dentist just so they have it on record. Most kids start losing teeth about age 5.
Reply:It depends on when your teeth start growing in. Mine started growing in when I was 3 months and they all fell out but age 8. I got my 12 yrs molars at 8 to so you have to check when they first started growing in.
Reply:My son started losing his teeth at four also. I took him to the denist and everything was fine. My daughter is six and a half and has never had a loose tooth yet! It all depends on the child. You may want to take her in for a checkup just in case, but chances are, everything is fine.
Reply:Usually by 6 years of age do baby teeth start coming out... and they don%26#039;t grow back. The (two) lower front teeth are the first to be lost...

When baby teeth get loose and come out, it%26#039;s usually because their adult teeth are on their way in. The growth of the adult teeth %26#039;pushes%26#039; the baby teeth out, so they will have adequate space to erupt in to.

For your own peace of mind, bring your daughter to a dentist for an evaluation and possible %26#039;picture%26#039; of the area. If the adult tooth is on it%26#039;s way in, you%26#039;ll see it on the xray.

Good Luck!
Reply:my first teeth came out when i was about six. i think it is ok. when i was in kindergarden i was always jealous of the kids who had their teeth fall out that year. its all on when the new teeth start developing
Reply:it varies from child to child

my sister lost her first tooth when she was 8 or 9.. and it wasn%26#039;t replaced for about one year

Question about losing teeth+cavities?

I lost one of my bottom teeth, close to a molar a few years back. When I lost it, I saw that there was a cavity on the molar behind it right where the tooth had been, due to not flossing. I didn%26#039;t tell my parents, and the dentist never filled anything. I let the new tooth grow in, no problem. I%26#039;m sure that it was a cavity and not a stain too. Now, I am having severe pain and sensitivity between those teeth, and I have braces on. It hurts so bad that I can%26#039;t chew on that side. What should I do? My parents said that their dental insurance only covers dental visits 2 times a year. Will they damage my braces if I get them filled? I have gotten many cavities (like 8) as a child on baby teeth. I only have 1 on a permanent tooth, and I want to stay healthy.

If a root canal is needed, I really don%26#039;t want to do it because I know that It will hurt a TON!!!

Question about losing teeth+cavities?
You are probably not experiencing any severe tooth problem. The area you noticed as what looked like %26quot;decay%26quot; was probably nothing more than stain, which can be deceiving. Decay would never have gone undetected by your dentist during and after the extraction, or the orthodontist, who %26quot;examined%26quot; you and viewed all of your %26quot;x rays%26quot; before your ortho placement. Decay is always taken care of prior to having your ortho placed. What you are experiencing sounds like and probably is due to movement of the teeth. Try taking some Motrin or Advil for the pain, avoid chewing on that side and see if it settles down. If not see your dentist next week to have it checked.

Additional information: A root canal can easily be completed without disturbing the bands; we open the occlusal surface exposing the pulp chamber allowing for access to remove the nerve for this procedure. Root canal procedures are virtually painless unless there is an abscess involved. Restorations (filling) can also be placed, usually without the removal of a band, although a band %26quot;can be easily removed%26quot; (without any damage to it) for this procedure (or any other) in the event that decay does happen to develop while in orthodontic treatment. The bands are cemented on the molars which should arrest and deter any decay except what may develop at the gingival margins and the occlusal surfaces that are exposed with poor hygiene habits. Just because you “think it will be painful and impossible” while in orthodontic treatment, doesn%26#039;t necessarily mean that it will be. We have a great deal of experience, not to mention years of school just for dentistry. We are thoroughly competent in taking care of your “complete dental health” along with “any possible dental problem” that may occur at any time as well as during your orthodontic treatment. Have a little faith in your dentist and orthodontist; they will do their part in taking excellent care of your teeth. The day to day care which includes flossing and brushing is all up to you, so make sure to do a good job with your hygiene so decay won’t have a chance to develop! If your pain persist or becomes worse, see your dentist early next week for an emergency appointment.

The two annual appointments covered by the dental insurance your parents were refering to, are for the semi annual hygiene or cleaning appointments with once a year x rays.
Reply:My best advice is to see a dentist ASAP.

The root canel shouldn%26#039;t hurt a ton but it is something that you wouldn%26#039;t like to do again.

Take care of your teeth, it the only set you get.
Reply:You just may need a root canal. Just go see a dentist and if they tell u u need a root canal and u dont wanna get it just say maybe we should do this another time and then go home.

What is the medical term for a fear of losing teeth? "blank"-aphobia?

I don%26#039;t have many fear%26#039;s. Especially when it comes to physical harm. But one thing that absolutely horrify%26#039;s me is losing my teeth, So much so that I can sometimes come off as a coward. What is the medical term for this fear (If there is one.) so I can better explain myself, Personify my fear, And perhaps relate to other%26#039;s about it.

What is the medical term for a fear of losing teeth? %26quot;blank%26quot;-aphobia?

A 3 month old golen retriever pup losing her teeth?

I have a golden retriever puppy, she%26#039;s 3 months old and she lost 2 of her bottom teeth. I have a male golden and they play together all the time, do you think they might have been ripped out? My male never plays really rough with her, he knows his boundaries %26amp; how to be gentle...however she%26#039;s full of piss and vinegar....

Is her losing teeth this early normal?

A 3 month old golen retriever pup losing her teeth?
Hi!

No it is perfectly normal. My Golden pup is 18 weeks old now and he as been loosing his teeth for quite some time now. He will loose all his teeth even his molars. so don%26#039;t worry even if you see blood. sometimes they do bleed quite a bit. My pup just lost one of his bottom canines and it did bleed quite a bit. Got my husband all nervous! lol My pup is fine so will yours be too!
Reply:Your very welcome! :) You know you can e-mail me anytime too! It%26#039;s open:)

Thanks so the vote! Report It

Reply:she%26#039;s just losing her baby teeth, don%26#039;t panic. and god forbid you step on the ones that fall out. OUCH!
Reply:Yes, she will have permanent ones in no time.
Reply:I would say that it%26#039;s pretty unusual and suggest that you take the puppy to a veterinarian for a full checkup.
Reply:um all puppies lose most of their baby teeth just like us...But less teeth.
Reply:dogs and cats.. like people have baby teeth.. and they fall out.. believe me.. i stepped on one of my cat%26#039;s and boy did i cuss a streak!
Reply:yes it is very normal for a puppie to lose their teeth even at an early age like that. It%26#039;s not from ur other dog.
Reply:It does seem a little early for loosing her milk teeth, but that%26#039;s probably what it is. She will grow in bigger, permanent teeth really soon. You%26#039;ll needs lots of chew toys so those new choppers come through!
Reply:Gosh, I lost my milk teeth at six months BUT now, I have to finest set of choppers .. dunno about early loss but there are surely new ones on the way!!
Reply:Yes! A dog that loses its teeth at 3 months old is normal. Just like us, dogs have baby teeth. Now, take into consideration the fact that dogs also age much more quickly than humans. Just TRY to throw them out when you see any laying around. It%26#039;s not uncommon for dogs to lose teeth without the owners even realizing, because they are often swallowed right away. Also, puppies play %26quot;rough%26quot; with each other all the time. So, yes, this may be when a tooth falls out...or it may be when she%26#039;s eating her food or chewing on a toy.

Am I going to start losing teeth?

When I push my theeth hard it looks like it moves slightly but the movement is barely noticable and I can only see it when I am very close to the mirror. I%26#039;m not even positive if it moves at all, but I do think it kinda moves. I%26#039;m freaking out because I don%26#039;t know if this is normal or not. I was at the dentist recently and he said I have inflamed gums but that I could easily make them healthier. He also took x-rays so he would%26#039;ve told me if I was in danger of losing any teeth right. I%26#039;ve become real obsessed with this lately. If I continue to take care of my teeth will I be able to keep all of them? I%26#039;m only a teenager.

Am I going to start losing teeth?
THIS TYPE OF QUESTION HAD ALREADY BEEN ASKED AND ANSWERED. TO RECAPITULATE

HAVE THE GINGIVITIS TREATED BY YOUR DENTIST, BRUSH PROPERLY AT LEAST 2 TIMES A DAY. FLOSS OR USE A WATERPIK TO REMOVE THE PARTICLES OF FOOD AND PLAQUE FROM BETWEEN YOUR GUMS AND TEETH.

IF YOU DON%26#039;T TAKE PROPER CARE OF YOUR GUMS THIS WILL LEAD TO EVENTUAL BONE LOSS AND THE LOSS OF YOUR TEETH.

SINCE YOU%26#039;RE A TEEN ESTABLISH GOOD HABITS NOW AND AVOID THE PAIN AND MISERY OF MANY ADULTS.
Reply:DONT PUSH YOUR TEETH! Ever think why they%26#039;re moving?? Because your pushing them duh! They dont just wiggle around aimlessly, they move when you add force! Everyones teeth does that and no your teeth will not fall out but seriously the more you push they will fall out.
Reply:Teeth are funny, like other body parts. If you keep tugging or pushing at them, you CAN loosen them. Leave them alone, and they%26#039;ll be fine.

Also, follow your dentist%26#039;s suggestions to the letter, and go back and make sure you%26#039;re doing everything correctly.

Obsessing over things won%26#039;t give you control, it won%26#039;t make your life better. Go for a more balanced approach, and good luck.
Reply:yes of course you can keep all of them if you take care of them properly by brushing at least 3 minutes after you eat specially before going to bed (using a soft bristled toothbrush and brshing in a small circular motion), flossing and most of all by eating heathy foods. inflammed gums are coz of not flossing regularly and doing a brushing effectively. inflammed gums are actually symptoms of gingivitis which leads to periodontitis or gum disease... dont freak out im NOT telling you have it already but im just telling you that maybe a cause of your problem is not brushing and flossing frequently.. what you can do is next time you visit your dentist ask your concerns about your oral health and im 100% sure he or she will help you alot with that. always remember when it comes to your oral health, dentists know best..
Reply:Hey.. stop pushing your teeth its not really advisable. You have to take care of your gums as well.. healthy gums means healthy teeth. use sensodyme as your toothpaste and paradontax for your gums - this should be rub on your gums.. once a day would be ok. gently massage it. and you will see the difference.
Reply:if you have a healthy oral cavity, a little bit of movement of the teeth will bee seen, it is called fremitus.

Anything to soothe a puppy while losing teeth?

Our 6 1/2 month old Chihuahua is losing his baby teeth right and left. Never have I heard of anyone actually finding puppy teeth, but so far we have found all 4 that he has lost within the last week or so.

Is there anything we can do (aside from softening his food) to help soothe him? He%26#039;s such a little spoiled baby and he seems to be upset about all of this! Thanks in advance!

Anything to soothe a puppy while losing teeth?
When my puppies are teething I like to stick whole carrots (since your puppy is a small breed I would use whole baby carrots) in the freezer and after they have become frozen give them to the puppy to chew on. Puppies LOVE carrots since a dog does have a sweet tooth! My dogs love carrots more than dog treats!
Reply:Aw. Some pups have it harder than others.

Try running a little rubber chew toy under water and then freezing it for him. The cold will soothe his sore mouth.
Reply:something cold to chew.

I found 2 but that%26#039;s not many.

Softening his food doesn%26#039;t help. The teething baby and/or puppy feels better to have something firm to chew on when teething, and often something cold to chew on helps.
Reply:Lots of stuff to chew.. And frozen green beans, and raw baby carrots!
Reply:Thats weird my chihuahua hasn%26#039;t lost his teeth and his 1 year and 4 months... so i%26#039;m not really sure, but it did happen i would just praise him as much as i can, just spoile him more...make him think he%26#039;s the king.
Reply:I have a 6 month old puppy and he is losing his teeth too.. we found 6 of them! We gave him ice cubes to chew on and sticks he seems to really like those and the string with knots on the end u get from the pet store are good too cause he can naw on it... it actually doesn%26#039;t hurt them when there teeth fall out, it%26#039;s just more annoying to them, the part that hurts them is when the teeth are growing back in.
Reply:You can get a %26quot;chilly bone%26quot; at any major pet store.

You wet it and put it in the freezer, then once it%26#039;s frozen you let your dog chew and lick it. It soothes their teeth and gums.

My papillon loved his chilly bone.
Reply:Hi! i have a 7month pup who already went thru the stressful teething stage. I have also been able to collect his teeth too.lol. But what we did was buy a medium size raw hide that will help them loosen up more their teeth. I always knew when my pup will loose a tooth, only because i was able to see the spots of blood on the rawhide. Once i saw that i will go straight to the freezer and give my pup ice cubes to help stop the bleeding n soothe his teeth. It works trust me. i have also tried the chilly bone that you put in the freezer but it doesnt last long like ice cubes do.

But make sure you keep watching your dog when his chewing wt toys.Good luck! Also don%26#039;t be surprise if they%26#039;re cranky!lol.
Reply:Ice cubes to play with in the water bowl.....they also make Chilly Bones-freezable chewy toys for teething pups.

My dog is now 3 and he lost teeth when he was a puppy and now he is losing more and more can somone help me???

he is 3 years old and he lost all of his puppy teeth when he was a puppy he is a male chiuhuahua and i dont understand why he is losing teeth now, and i need to no if i need to take him to the vet. i take great care of his teeth i brush them when the vet recommended.

My dog is now 3 and he lost teeth when he was a puppy and now he is losing more and more can somone help me???
Call your vet. It doesn%26#039;t cost anything to talk on the phone, and he/she will let you know if it%26#039;s something serious.
Reply:That is a tendancy Chihuahau%26#039;s have, is teeth loss.

I have a 1/2 Chi, 1/2 Terrier, a spoiled rotten brat,.. she started losing her teeth around 5-6 yrs. old.

She%26#039;s now 13 yrs. old and has 1 crooked bottom fang sticking out and some back teeth.

BUT that IS a rather earlier age for teeth loss. It has to do with the breed and genetics.

But take to vet still, just in case there%26#039;s gum disease involved.
Reply:You should talk to your vet or if you bought from a breeder ask if the mommy or daddy had the same problem, it might be genetics or it might be a bone and gum disease.
Reply:The vet is the best some chis are prone to loose teeth early and some is do to feeding can or soft foods..

I have found even when you give dog biscuts give the LARGE like for the shpherd so they can really knaw on it.

Good Luck
Reply:It%26#039;s probably gum disease. Sometimes little dogs can actually pull out their own teeth when they pull and play too rough.

He should see a vet for dental care. If they get really bad, I personally would just have them pulled if he were my dog. Gum disease causes heart disease, so it just isn%26#039;t worth the risk.
Reply:Some small dogs have premature tooth loss.

Small dog owners really have to take care of the teeth and keep them clean. If not they will lose them prematurely.

I take mine in for a cleaning whenever they start getting calculus buildup on their teeth.

Also rinses and tooth brushing helps. But these things have to be done almost everyday.

Take your dog into the vet and talk to the vet about his teeth.

Am I going to start losing my teeth?

Sometimes when I bite down and push my tongue against my lower front teeth, it feels like they move a little. I went to the dentist a few weeks and I didn%26#039;t mention it but he didn%26#039;t say that I had any loose teeth. I%26#039;m a paraniod person so i%26#039;ve been worrying lately that i%26#039;m going to start losing teeth. Is it normal at all for teeth to move like this?

Am I going to start losing my teeth?
its your tongue that makes you feel this, do it and look in the mirror, they dont move right? your tongue squishes stuff through your teeth and also pushes spit against it and it feels like they move, same thing happened to me.
Reply:wow..the same exact thing happens to mee..i have no idea if im imagining the sensation of moving teeth or what..
Reply:I think ur dentist would%26#039;ve mentioned if ur teeth were loose. U migh%26#039;ve just had the impression that ur teeth were loose. Don%26#039;t worry about it. Check it in front of the mirror by moving ur teeth with ur finger. Then see if it moves or not.
Reply:relax a bit , the only way you are going to lose a tooth is if you don%26#039;t take care of them, and I am pretty sure if your teeth was loose your dentist would of told you.
Reply:Its okay, don%26#039;t be paranoid. there is almost always some slight movement in all teeth. Your Dental Hygienist would have told you if there were a concern and the Dr confirm it. If you have regular cleanings/xrays/exams, any problem will be diagnosed before it gets out of control.

Reply:i%26#039;m going to be honest with you...just because your dentist didn%26#039;t mention it, doesn%26#039;t mean that it isn%26#039;t happening. i worked for a dentist that i had to point out on many occasion that a patients lower anteriors were mobile.

i%26#039;m not saying that you have periodontal disease (which is a loss of bone which causes the teeth to become mobile). there is the possibility that your bite is causing these teeth to become loose. this happens more times than none. if you really want to see if your teeth are loose, take two pencils with nice fat erasers on them, place the erasers on the lip side and the tongue side of each tooth one tooth at a time. try to wiggle the tooth back and forth. if it moves, you have your answer. if this happens there are a couple of things that you could do to stop this. if you DO NOT have periodontal disease (if you did, your dentist or hygienist would tell you) then the dentist could adjust your bite to keep you from hitting that tooth or teeth. the other is to have that tooth or teeth splinted.

these are things you can talk to your dentist about.

hope this helped.
Reply:go to ur dentist.....the mobility is normal if its within 1-2mm....but more than that it is very mobile.....u have to know the cause of ur mobility due to periodonatl disease or due diabetes......

Do you ever dream of losing teeth?

I often dream that Im losing my teeth, first I can feel my gums get sore, and then I can taste blood in my mouth, right after, I can feel my teeth getting loose, and then all my teeth fall out. When I have these dreams it%26#039;s scary, cause it feels so real. I wake up searching my mouth to make sure i have all my teeth.

Do you ever dream of losing teeth?
Yes! It is a nightmare that I have!

I actually have woken up and had a tooth a little loose, which happens when I am stressed because I clench my jaw, but they always tighten back up.

Sometimes it is a subconscience thought process indicating that you may have health/business issues that are going to be coming that are not good, or you have said something that was unkind to someone.
Reply:Yeah, I have heard it%26#039;s normal sometimes. It%26#039;s supposed to signify the loss of status or something like that, but I don%26#039;t think that%26#039;s what caused my dreams.
Reply:You could be grinding your teeth in your sleep. I have done the same thing, and my husband said I was grinding my teeth or biting down in my sleep.
Reply:Yeah I had a dream like that once and I was grinding my teeth so I woke up and they were sore.
Reply:yes, its a sign you feel very unsure of yourself for some reason, unready to meet some sort of challenge.
Reply:ya i have braces and sometimes don%26#039;t brush. i dream that when i get them off my teeth start falling out. scary stuff.
Reply:dreaming of losing teeth is your subconcience reflecting on your insecurities
Reply:no but according to a dream book that i%26#039;ve read, this means that subconsciously, you are afraid of oral sex because you think that you%26#039;ll choke on big b-o-n-e-r. i%26#039;m not kidding. go consult a dream book. cheers!
Reply:I have dreamt that all my teeth fell out and i woke up and ran to the bathroom to check on them and my mouth hurt
Reply:I dream that my teeth break and then fall out. I read somewhere that it means u are stressed
Reply:Let me know if you really do lose your teeth, i%26#039;ll have a nice part time gig waitin for ya
Reply:nope. never, unless someone punches me or somthing, which never happens in my dream.
Reply:I NEVER HAD THAT DREAM BUT I HAVE A FRIEND THAT DREAMS THAT A LOT TO.
Reply:its alright, many times it means theres a loss of immaturity. baby teeth, even as an adult means youre growing up. youve been holding onto something like a child would. bc theyre bloody and scary, its a harsh reality to you is all. there area cpl more meaning, but i def get the feeling this is yours.

you could be feeling ineffective, %26quot;no bite%26quot;.
Reply:That dream is an OMEN, the someone you love will die....

it%26#039;s probably in your family, however, there is a a counter attack to this bad omen, you need to bite your teeth to a living plant, any shrub or tree that you can bite its branch , make sure that the juice out of the plant will come out as you bite it, and then you%26#039;ll see in the end, that the plant or tree will die! because, you%26#039;ve passed the omen to it.
Reply:I dreamnt that I fell out of bed and smacked my face on the wall and lost all my teeth in the front... when I woke up my face felt sore (that was weird) and I was kinda uneasy about it so I looked it up.

I found out that dreams about losing teeth mean that you are too concerned with your physical appearance, which was very true for me at that time.
