Do kittens lose teeth?

i have a kitten who's 17 weeks old and wanted to know if kittens lose teeth and grow adult ones? i ask because it looks as if he has lost one(i cant get a good look in his mouth because he wont stay still) he hasn't had a fall or fight so it cant be that. he's chewing a lot of stuff on the side that the tooth is missing. he's not in any pain (if he were i would not be asking but would be going to the vets)

Do kittens lose teeth?
yes, they do lose their teeth. we've been fortunate enough to actually find two from our current kitten! he's probably chewing from a combination of teething and loose teeth. they usually swollow them, or you just dont'' find them.
Reply:Yes. kittens do lose baby teeth and grow adult teeth.

Reply:Yes, they do. Kittens start losing their baby teeth around the same time as they're old enough to be weaned from nursing off their mom. By the time they reach age 6 months or so, they'll have all of their adult teeth.
