At what age do children quit losing their baby teeth??????

My son is 11 1/2 and has lost 5-6 teeth in the last month, I am not sure if he is doing this intentionally or what but it seems as if he is doing it on purpose?????

Unless he's taking a pair of plyers to his molars... what do you mean he's doing it intentionally? They stop losing their baby teeth when they have all fallen out, every last one. If he's been slow to lose them, they may be coming out quickly because his adult teeth are demanding the room. Are there adult teeth coming in to replace them? If there are, he's fine. IF NOT, then he needs to have an exam, because there could be an underlying medical reason.

Reply:There is no way he would intentionally pull his teeth out it is just to painfull. He just might be going through period where alot of his teeth are coming out. And I didn't stop loosing my baby teeth until I was 14

Reply:well i lost them wen i was 11 cuz i used to wear retainers so that i can get braces soon.so maybe about 12-13 yrs old

Reply:not sure how he can lose them "on purpose". your dentist will be able to tell you how many of the molars and canines remain.

Reply:I was a in the eleventh grade when the last of my baby teeth came out. My youngest boy will be 14 and he's only lost about eight of his baby teeth. The other children were also later than most others. I don't see how your son could be causing his teeth to loosen up and be pulled on his own.
Reply:It depends on the child. When I was twelve all my friends had lost their baby teeth years ago while I still had three or four left. I lost them though throughout the course of the seventh grade, it took them a while to grow in though. I had to walk around with three gaping holes where my eye teeth should have been!
Reply:Around 6 years old is when they start losing their baby teeth.
