Is my kitten losing his baby teeth?

Tonight my kitten started sticking out his tongue and it made this grinding noise like teeth. He drive heaved when I put my finger in his mouth to make sure he didnt have something stuck in there and there was blood. He is about 6-7 months. Could he possibly be teething? He doesn't seem to be in any pain. He is still playing just looks like something is bothering his mouth.

could be losing baby teeth but also check for string around the base of the tongue.
Reply:it's probaly losing a BABY TEETH n will grow child teeth hehe..

wut's d diffrence?
Reply:Your kitty is in the age bracket where they lose their baby teeth. Most of the time you won't find the teeth because they come out while eating and are just swallowed. Also take a flashlight and shine it in your kitty's mouth just to make sure there isn't somthing else going on like a string or thorn.
Reply:My cat does that when he accidentally gets a hair caught in his mouth. Haven't you ever half-swallowed a hair and gagged trying to get it out? Not a pleasant experience, but it should go away.

He might also have an ingrown tooth. Does he paw at his mouth? If he starts doing that, stop him and take him to a vet when you have time. He isn't old enough to control his claws yet and he could scratch himself pretty badly. My cat did that, too.

Another problem to consider: My sister's cat had gingivitis and started behaving similarly. It's easy to prevent, you just have to brush his teeth. They make special toothpaste and toothbrushes for cats.
Reply:yeah it sounds like losin baby teeth i have 7 cats of my own ages from 13yrs to 5 months and they all did that at that age
