My puppy is about 5 months and he's losing his teeth, but he's stopped eating, doesn't play anymore, has drool

That is sooo not normal. Get him to the vet asap!

Nope. That is not normal.
Reply:OK Have you ever seen a baby teeth???... sounds about normal. Look in your dogs mouth.. are the new teeth coming in behind the ones "falling out"? If not and your dog looks like it needs dentures bring him in and let the vet xray him... Don't let it go long with out food and make sure it's monitored.

If he is in serious discomfort bring him to the vet to make sure the teeth are coming in correctly and can administer a pain killer if it's that bad. Otherwise supply him with soft food if he refuses to chew the harder stuff but the harder stuff is better for teething. Mix it together and he should be fine..

Otherwise your dog may be dying like everyone here thinks he may be... Bring him to the vet and stop listening to people who may not know what rasing puppies is like.
Reply:He could be having trouble with his teething... maybe some teeth aren't coming in as they should or they're growing in abnormally and causing him pain. Call the vet and see what they say about it.
Reply:yes its totally normal...OF COURSE ITS NOT!! take him 2 an animal doctor, they call them VETS! its prolly dying. :(
Reply:I recomend taking him to the vet. But meanwhile, try to do some research on the internet. I hope he gets better!!
Reply:NO! Vet!
Reply:Check his mouth on the inside:he is teething, and its hurting him a bit.Take some tennis balls, and put them into the freezer.when they are cold enough, give it to puppy.
Reply:This is natural (teething) the loss of appetite shouldn't last longer than a few days...if he is still interested in a treat that is good ... hopefully he is drinking water ...call your vet they usually will give you advise over the phone...
Reply:My 7 mo old just got done teething and NOTHING like this happened. I'd take him to a vet asap. Hope he's better soon.
Reply:If he's indicating pain, which is what your description of the whimpering sounds like, then you need to get him to the vet FIRST THING tomorrow.

Losing teeth from teething is not usually accompanied by not eating or playing, and drooling and whimpering in pain. Something is really wrong here, so don't delay going in with him tomorrow.
Reply:Not normal for a teething dog get him to a vet could have something wrong.

better safe than sorry-- Is he up to date on all his vaccines being listless and not eating could mean trouble in a pup.
Reply:There is one thing for sure your dog is SICK./ If it is not eating it will become dehydrated. The longer you wait the sicker it will become. Get it to the VET ASAP.
Reply:no, make a vet appointment asap. it could be vey serious
