Is it bad that I am losing my wisdom teeth stitches considerably less than 7-10 days following surgery?

I just spat out several stitches and then almost choked on one after a warm water rinse. I had surgery on Tuesday, and started feeling them coming loose on Thursday. I called because of the slight stinging pain this caused, and they said a loose stitch wasn't a big deal. But now they are coming out in chunks, which probably explains why the slight stinging pain has turned into a pain akin to a knife slashing the inside of my mouth every time I move it. The warm water rinse helped, but now the stitches are coming completely out. As it is 4:24 Saturday am, I can't exactly reach the dr to make sure it's okay, so I am wondering if this is bad? I think it will be okay, but I want to know for sure.

A stitch placed after extraction serves two purposes. One is to lessen the wound size and stop bleeding and the other is faster healing of the wound. Stitches that stay for at least a day serve their purpose. Its common for stitches to become loose and come out within 1 or 2 days. So there is nothing to worry. Do continue your warm salt water rinse and take a painkiller if there is any pain. Meet your dentist as scheduled to take off the remaining stitches.
Reply:no I swallowed mine in my sleep about the fifth day, If your still feeling pain then take your pain medication.
